History

MetalCorp Limited was founded in 2002 through an amalgamation between Redbird Gold Corporation and a numbered Ontario company. As MetalCorp grew we aquired many key prospects including North Rock, Black Bear (Red Lake) and the Big Lake property.

In 2006, MetalCorp began to yield benefits through major discoveries at both Big Lake, where a high grade poly-metallic sulfide zone was discovered, and at North Rock, where a high grade intercept grading 12.2 g/t Platinum over 4 meters, with 46.1 g/t over 0.5 meters, was encountered in a drill campaign.

From 2006 to 2008, MetalCorp continued to develop its exploration efforts and advanced several properties. However, a combination of the 2008 downturn along with internal struggles and personnel changes resulted in challenges for the organization.

The next 24 months were a transitional period to re-establish the company's roots. Naomi Nemeth, a director of MetalCorp acted as interim CEO and President. Charles Greig, joined the company as Vice-President, Exploration and significant advances were made to strategically reestablish the company back to its former position as a major exploration group.

In June, 2010, Chris Dougherty, accepted the position as President of MetalCorp and also joined the Board of Directors. Mr. Dougherty introduced a new vision to move the company from an exclusively exploration focus to one that included development, dynamic management of properties and greater flexibility in acquiring or divesting projects.

Since Mr. Dougherty's appointment, MetalCorp has completely redeveloped the organization, hired key personnel, established a new base of operations in Thunder Bay, Ontario and advanced its growth.
