Chris Dougherty P.Eng.


Mr. Dougherty is a director and one of two principal owners of Nordmin Engineering Ltd., a privately owned corporation based in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Mr. Dougherty is a Professional Engineer with 22 years of experience in the global mining industry, and has directed and completed the design of mining facilities on every continent on Earth, save Antarctica. Raised in Sudbury, Ontario, Mr. Dougherty was the 5th generation of his family to work at the Garson Mine, continuing his family's long history in the mining business.

Starting as a surveyor with Inco in 1987, Mr. Dougherty has worked progressively through positions of increasing responsibility in consulting companies, up to the founding of Nordmin Engineering Ltd., an engineering consultancy dedicated to serving the mining industry, in 2005. From a single employee, the firm now has 35 employees. Mr. Dougherty has a Diploma in Technology from Cambrian College in Sudbury, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay.
